  • ASSE opened its summer transfer window on Thursday by announcing the arrivals of Jean-Philippe Krasso (Epinal) and Setigui Karamoko (Béziers).
  • These two young players will live their first professional experience in Saint-Etienne, which assumes its new “post-training policy”.

May 28, 2020 set the tone for a summer transfer window low cost on the side of
ASSE? Two years after initiating a turn by signing six internationals (Debuchy, M’Vila, Ntep, Subotic, Khazri and Cabella), the Greens are starting another, looking much more modest. It is indeed necessary to have scrutinized matches of Bobigny, Sainte-Geneviève, Schiltigheim or Bourg-en-Bresse to have a precise opinion on
Jean-Philippe Krasso (Epinal, National 2) and
Setigui Karamoko (Béziers, National).

Sainté on Thursday formalized the first professional contracts of the 22-year-old striker’s career (linked to the Greens until 2023) and the 20-year-old central defender (one-season lease plus another optional). The two young players will be entitled to different expectations since Jean-Philippe Krasso (13 goals and 9 assists in L2) marked the spirits during the nice Vosges course in the Coupe de France, with in particular a double against Losc in eighths (2 -1) then a goal against ASSE in quarters (1-2).

ASSE assumes its shift towards “post-training policy”

“He’s a young striker who went through Lorient [en centre de formation] who hasn’t had a straight course, says new coach Claude Puel. He got back into the spotlight in the Cup and has a new opportunity to relaunch himself at the highest level. Free of any contract, Jean-Philippe Krasso will therefore join the professional group well in July.

Former Puy-en-Velay (Haute-Loire), Setigui Karamoko “will initially strengthen the reserve team in National 3” as announced by the official statement of ASSE. The 1.92m defender has only played two National games this season with Béziers and “it is part of the post-training policy that ASSE wishes to implement”. A new era is indeed opening up in Forez with the Puel-Buisine tandem and very limited means.
