AS Saint-Etienne : good news at the Sainté recruitment cell | ASSE News

The former professional player, Jean-Luc Buisine, should soon join the ASSE recruitment cell as director. He replaces David Wantier with the Greens of AS Saint-Étienne.

ASSE: Jean-Luc Buisine, experienced man

The team today announces the arrival of Jean-Luc Buisine as new director of the AS Saint-Etienne recruitment unit. The discussions would have been undertaken following the departure of David Wantier last February. The latter did not maintain good relations with the trainer Claude Puel. Foreshadowed during the sacking of Wantier, the track leading to Gérard Bonneau could not succeed. Julien Cordonnier has been acting since then. Jean-Luc Buisine should embark on Forez, not without experience in view of his successful passages as a recruiter at LOSC between 2003 and 2011, then at Stade Rennais between 2013 and 2019.

The former defender from Rouen, Lille and Racing Club de Strasbourg has the advantage of being close to Xavier Thuilot, the general manager of ASSE, in office since October 4. The two men have been rubbing shoulders since their time at Lille OSC. Jean-Luc Buisine’s contract should be signed next week.

This experienced man has several big hits to his credit on the transfer market. He signed players like Michel Bastos, Adil Rami, Dimitri Payet and Moussa Sow, top scorer in Ligue 1 during the 2019/2020 season, at LOSC.
