AS Saint-Etienne : Brest still going for Franck Honorat? | ASSE News

Franck Honorat would still be in the plans for Stade Brestois. A longtime contender for AS Saint-Etienne striker, the Breton club could attack on the next transfer window, to strengthen its attacking sector where some departures are announced this summer.

Franck Honorat still on Brest shelves

Stade Brestois will lose some offensive elements during the summer transfer window. On loan from AS Monaco, Samuel Grandsir has already indicated that he intends to return to the Rock to impose himself on Louis II. At the end of the contract, Yoann Court should leave Brittany for lack of extension. Faced with these departures, Brest could activate an old track on the side of AS Saint-Etienne. The team reveals that the Breton club is still interested in Franck Honorat. Brest was already eyeing the 23-year-old forward at the start of the season when he was named among Claude Puel’s unwelcome players. But Stade Brestois retracted when the Toulon native finished in good graces with the ASSE coach, ending the season with 5 assists.

Is it possible to leave Honorat?

Faced with the deficiency ahead on the front of its attack, the Breton club could therefore go on the offensive for Franck Honorat this summer. However, recruiting the striker from Saint Etienne is not going to be easy for Brest. If he is estimated at 1.6 million euros on Transfermarkt, the player is still under contract until 2023 with the Greens, which suggests that Saint-Etienne could claim much more for Toulon. Likewise, with his status which has changed with Claude Puel, it is no longer certain that the Stéphanois coach will want to separate from him. Unwelcome when the former Nice coach arrived, Honorat is now a serious candidate for a starting position. The striker finished the season with 14 starts in 19 games.
