Who is the strongest in terms of image in French football? Obviously, it’s the Greens. This is, at least, what emerges from a survey carried out in December 2019 with a representative sample of 5,000 French people aged 16 to 75 interested in football.
13 points higher than the average of all clubs
According to the image barometer of professional clubs for the 2019-2020 season established by the Ipsos Institute on behalf of the LFP and the Premier League, 77% of those questioned have a good image of AS Saint-Etienne. This allows it to remain at the top of Ligue 1 clubs, with 13 points more than the average of all clubs. The Greens are leaders in half of the regions of France, and in particular in Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, despite the local competition from Olympique Lyonnais.
ASSE is also perceived as the friendliest club (78%). Thanks to the actions carried out by the ASSE-Coeur Vert association in the health, environment, sport for all and employment sectors, the club from Stéphane is also leading in the area of civic engagement and social (53%, plus 3 points).
Finally, Saint-Étienne ranks third for prestige (76%), dynamism (74%) and formative dimension (73%).
