9:35 am |In Sorbiers, a mask workshop to equip municipal staff

Municipal employees will be equipped with “made in Sorbiers” masks. A workshop has been set up at the service center. He benefits from the experience of professional seamstresses like Martine Zaworski.

Jocelyne Robert, prevention advisor and Chantal Lashermes, prevention assistant have assembled a team of volunteer seamstresses for a mission of general interest: the making of fabric masks.

Three teams have been formed. Four people cutting, twelve sewing, four ironing and finishing. Each brings their own equipment, which allows them not to circulate the equipment and stay within safety rules.

A collection of fabric and accessories was made upstream. The difficulty was to obtain elastic bands.

At an average of five masks made each hour and per sewing machine (twelve machines are in place), several hundred masks could thus be made during these participative workshops.

8:45 am | In Roannais, squirrels come to knock on the windows

The story takes place in a small town in Roannais, in Saint-Hilaire-sous-Charlieu. As nature fades, birds and squirrels take their ease.

Jacqueline Fessy’s house is located in the middle of the woods. In this period of confinement, she finds that “nature is taking back its rights”. Indeed, animal species are even more numerous to frequent the place and several rare birds in our region have appeared.

But the most touching is the arrival of several squirrels approaching very close to the house, having even managed to make friends with Jacqueline’s cats.

For several days each morning, the “Marcel” squirrel has come to the bathroom window for a hearty breakfast.

His companion “Caroline”, slightly more shy, chose the bird feeder located nearby to taste the nuts that Jacqueline drops them every day.

8 hours | “The resumption of activity is in sight, but in the fog …”

The Lyon-Métropole-Saint-Étienne-Roanne Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) has spoken with nearly 2,000 business leaders in its area since last week. The observation: “The resumption of activity is in sight, but in the fog …

Exchanges between the CCI and 371 companies (*), it emerges that “the leaders evoke more and more the month of September as the date of real recovery”.

The sector of cafes, restaurants, restaurants and personal services expects a soft recovery with a big questioning on the behavior of customers after this long period of confinement. For the building and public works and industry: business leaders anticipate a sudden recovery following the complete stoppage of many construction sites with the double problem of guaranteeing employee security and the difficulty of supply to ensure a recovery rapid construction and production.
