Canal + refuses to fulfill its latest treaty concerning Ligue 1 TV rights, beIN Sport could do the same and all French football is shaking.
As announced on Saturday, Canal + has decided not to honor its € 110m deal scheduled for April 5 concerning TV rights for Ligue 1 for the current season. Hiding behind the suspension of the championship due to the exceptional crisis of the coronavirus, the president of the encrypted chain justified this decision by “The obligation to take the necessary measures to mitigate the financial impact” imposed by general confinement in France.
