AS Saint-Etienne : Coronavirus: Concern among the Greens of St Etienne! | ASSE News

This Monday, the Minister of Sports, Roxana Maracineanu, announced the introduction of closed doors until April 15 for all Ligue 1 clubs and Ligue 2, in order to limit the spread of Coronavirus. A closed door which could be extended if the health situation does not improve by then. An exceptional situation that worries many club leaders, including the co-president of the AS Saint-Etienne : Bernard Caïazzo.

Indeed, the leader of Greens of St Etienne was concerned about the negative impact that such a decision will have on the finances of the ASSE.

“If we postpone the matches and if, at the end of April, we are in the same situation with the Coronavirus, what do we do? We are in a potentially disaster-stricken economy. The consequences will be serious for our football. To my knowledge, no club will ‘is insured as an operating loss for this type of in camera “ said Caiazzo in remarks relayed by Poteaux Carrés.

We can estimate the shortfall at just under 1 million euros for Greens of St Etienne, if the behind closed doors is not extended beyond April 15.
