AS Saint-Etienne : ASSE will change its logo and invite supporters of all stripes to express themselves via a platform | ASSE News

AS Saint-Etienne wants to change its logo and is embarking on a popular initiative by inviting its supporters to co-construct its new visual identity. Green lovers must first express themselves via a platform, before voting for one of the finalist logos.

ASSE has seen logos … but for the 2022-2023 season, the Saint-Etienne club wishes to change its visual identity. Green supporters are therefore invited to express themselves via a platform, vertlavenir.asse.fr in order to contribute to the final choice.

The logo is the identity of the Greens, but this time the club wants to associate the paws of its supporters with it.

We care, explains Jean-François Soucasse, executive president of ASSE, to bring together Sainté lovers around this unifying and innovative project. A collaborative and transparent project, which marks a new stage in the evolution of AS Saint-Etienne”.

This participatory approach will be carried out in several stages. For a month, until October 15, supporters are consulted via an online questionnaire that lasts about twenty minutes. What does ASSE mean to you? What are the differences between ASSE and another club? and many other questions are put to supporters.

On October 2, 42 people (representatives of supporters’ groups, partners, club ambassadors, supporters who answered the questionnaire in particular) will participate in co-construction workshops.
The goal will be to exchange more in depth on the identity of the club and around the vision of the future logo.
At the end of these workshops, two avenues will be chosen. And a large audience will be able to vote between the finalist logos in early November.

ASSE has known ten logos since its creation: 1933, 1940, 1960, 1970, 1977, 1980, 1988, 1989, 1994 and 2000. For 21 years the logo has not changed. The black panther has appeared twice, in 1970 and in 1988, in tribute to the unclassifiable player of the Greens, Sélif Keita, nicknamed the panther.
