Iconic guardian of AS Saint Etienne, also the most capped goalkeeper in the history of the club with 383 games under the colors of Forez, the love story between Stephane Ruffier and ASSE turned into a nightmare last year. The two parties will meet at the prud’hommes, while the French goalkeeper demands 4 to 5 million euros from his former club.
At the beginning of 2021, Stéphane Ruffier had been dismissed by AS Saint-Etienne for “serious misconduct”, something that the former Saint-Etienne doorman has always disputed. It is for this reason that he has assigned the Forez club to the industrial tribunal and he is asking for severance pay of between 4 and 5 million euros.
