In full operation maintenance with AS Saint-Étienne, Pascal Dupraz received some reinforcements this winter. Joris Gnagnon, Bakary Sako, Paul Bernardoni and Sada Thioub joined the Greens until the end of the season. Despite these arrivals, the Saint-Etienne coach wants to strengthen his squad with a new striker. Given its limited finances, the Forez club ticked the name of Youcef Belaili. The 29-year-old winger is free of any contract following his departure from Qatar SC in December. But unlike his management, the Algerian winger does not interest the Stéphane coach. One less target for Saint-Étienne
Before the revelations of Goal, the father and agent of Youcef Belaïli had already closed the door to a departure for Saint-Étienne. The representative of the 2019 African champion noted that ASSE was far from meeting the player’s expectations. “We rejected the offer from the outset, because Saint Etienne wants to hire him for a contract of only 6 months with one objective, that of saving the club from relegation to L2. Once this objective is achieved, his contract will be extended; either conditions that do not suit us, ”he confided in the columns of Competition. Free, the Algerian international adds to the long list of targets that Sainté will not sign this winter. The Jean-Philippe Mateta or Zinedine Ferhat are all offensive elements announced on the shelves of the Greens. But unless surprised, the Loire club should not recruit any of these names.
