With a transfer market about to close, clubs will enter the home stretch of the championship. While many have their eyes fixed on the battle for Europe, the fight to maintain it also attracts. From ASSE to FCGB, via FCL and ESTAC, who will play in Ligue 2 next season? The bookmakers give us leads.

ASSE and FCL in a very bad position for maintenance

Unsurprisingly, it is AS Saint-Etienne who have the lowest odds with 1.90 against 1. The Greens, who have only 12 points in 21 games, will have to achieve a big second half of the season, to be able avoid the descent to Ligue 2. FC Lorient is the other team with the lowest odds with 2.3. The Merlus, who have 17 points, are two points from the play-offs, and three from 17th position, synonymous with maintaining Ligue 1.

FCGB and ESTAC not far behind, according to bookmakers

These two teams are followed by Bordeaux, Clermont, Troyes and Metz. The first is the most exposed club in this group to a descent into Ligue 2, with odds of 2.5 to 1, while the following three point to 2.8, 3.2 and 3.5 respectively. Four points separate the 15th (Clermont) from the 19th (Lorient). The Stade de Reims, 14th, seems to be out of reach, according to the bookmakers, with odds at 15.
