ASSE: Aouchiche, Moueffek and Palencia at l’Etrat
Having played a tournament with the selection of Tunisia, Wahbi Khazri will only resume training with ASSE in a few days. Other players absent for various reasons found the group of Claude Puel this Tuesday. They are Adil Aouchiche, Aïmen Moueffek and Sergi Palencia. The first had been absent since the recovery on June 29 because he tested positive for covid-19. The second suffered an arm injury and the third AS Saint-Étienne player was given an extended vacation.
Loaned to CD Leganés last season, the right-back played in the play-offs for the La Liga climb against Rayo Vallecano in June. So the season ended a bit later for the Spaniard with the Madrid club. Having not yet integrated collective training, Adil Aouchiche, Aïmen Moueffek and Sergi Palencia are not expected to be available for ASSE’s first friendly match against Le Puy Foot (National 2 club) on July 10 at the Aimé Jacquet stadium.
Calendar of friendly matches for AS Saint-Étienne
Note that the Greens had two training sessions on Tuesday at Etrat. The second session of the afternoon “ended on a tactical note” according to the precision of the Loire club. Returning to the friendly matches, ASSE will face Football Bourg-en-Bresse Péronnas (National 1) on Friday July 16 at the Robert-Herbin Sports Center. The Greens will then play against Grenoble Foot (Ligue 2) on Saturday July 17, followed by OGC Nice on Wednesday July 21 in Aix-Les-Bains.
The Stéphanois will complete the series of test matches with the confrontation with the promoted to Ligue 1, Clermont Foot 63, on July 24 (6 p.m.). Claude Puel’s team will play their first Ligue 1 match against FC Lorient on Sunday August 8 in Geoffroy-Guichard.
