Eager to prepare for the future in central defense, José Fonte not being eternal, the LOSC leaders searched for a defender. Apparently, it’s William Saliba who would be in Olivier Létang’s sights.

LOSC is expected to have a start wave this summer. While the departure of Christophe Galtier has been formalized, that of Boubakary Soumaré should follow. But the LOSC would now have another lead: Arsenal defender William Saliba.

A young player already very experienced

The athletic 20-year-old defender is already showing 48 Ligue 1 games at the meter. He made his professional debut at just 17 with AS Saint-Etienne. Bought in 2019 by Arsenal for € 30m, he was loaned to ASSE in the process. The 2020-2021 season is mixed for Saliba. Struggling to win in the Gunners and having very little playing time, the Bondy native is loaned mid-season to OGC Nice, with whom he achieves a correct end of the championship.
