AS Saint-Etienne beats SCO Angers: 1 to 0

Goal: Khazri (52nd) for ASSE

AS Saint-Etienne won 1-0 this Saturday in Angers, a victory that does the Greens the greatest good in the fight for maintenance.

Traveling to Angers, AS Saint-Etienne knew it was imperative to come back with something from this trip to Anjou, the Greens having fallen back in the standings with only one point taken in the last three games. And Claude Puel’s team clearly took this game in the right direction, even though at the break the Greens failed to make up the difference. However, from the start, it was Khazri, placarded at the start of the season, who logically allowed ASSE to pass in a superb way (52nd).

In the process, Diony, former Sainté, thought he had equalized, but his goal was logically refused for offside after using the VAR (55th). Saint-Etienne dominated the proceedings, even if the end of the match was more stressful, the referee not whistling a penalty claimed by the SCO following a hand from Moueffek in the box (89 ‘). Despite this forcing from Angers, ASSE held on to victory, a result which allowed it to put 18th at 8 points, while the Angevin team missed an opportunity to come back to the level of OM.
