ASSE have a young central defender
Plagued by financial difficulties, AS Saint-Étienne is struggling to strengthen its first team. This is coming out of a disappointing first half of the season. Claude Puel’s men are in 16th place in Ligue 1. The ASSE coach hoped to recruit an offensive reinforcement in the person of Mostafa Mohamed. But negotiations with Zamalek, his club, are at a standstill as Jean-Luc Buisine reported. Failing to sign reinforcements for the first team, the Loire club have just completed the arrival of a central defender. The pro-Stéphanois site Green Prospect ensures that Saint-Étienne has offered the services ofElfayed Mnemoi.
Sainté’s future “Zouma”?
As the local source reveals, the young center-back was close to signing for Olympique Marseille. But it is at AS Saint-Étienne that he will begin his young career. Young of the 2008 generation, he arrived at ASSE from Olympique Roverain. According to the same source, a Stéphanois leader would even compare the young defender to Kurt Zouma. The Chelsea defender moved to the Greens before joining the Blues against nearly 15 million euros in 2014. Elfayed Mnemoi will join the training center of the Loire club in 2023.
