AS Saint-Etienne : An executive of the Greens will slip away in the English way | ASSE News

The transfer window winter is likely to be animated on the side of theASSE. In the midst of a crisis of results, the Greens must resume in the league during the month of December before strengthening during the winter transfer window. However, theAS Saint-Etienne could lose big during this transfer window with the departure close to an executive.

A departing ASSE executive

After the summer degreasing operation, with the departures of Loïs Diony and Yann M’Vila in particular, respectively at Angers SCO and Olympiakos, theASSE prepare his transfer window winter. The Greens would like to see their former defender, William Saliba, who is currently struggling at Arsenal, back on loan. They also rely on a scorer and would like to see one or two experienced players arrive to supervise a young squad. But for that, theASSE will still have to part with big salaries in the winter transfer window. Stéphane Ruffier is obviously the first target, but other players with very limited playing time, even unwanted, will have to find a way out. This is the case of Wahbi Khazri and Ryad Boudebouz in particular. The second had an option to Qatar, but the deal was not done.

FC Lorient in pole position

The one that theASSE on the other hand did not think to see leaving this season, it is Romain Hamouma. Captain in the absence of Mathieu Debuchy, the 33-year-old attacking midfielder is in negotiations with his leaders to extend his contract which ends in June 2021. But an agreement still seems very far from being found. The player earns only 80,000 euros a month and would like to see his loyalty rewarded, after eight long years at theASSE. And as the negotiations drag on, Romain Hamouma is looking towards other options and in particular one on the side of Brittany. FC Lorient is indeed very interested in the experienced Saint-Etienne and could make him a contract offer in January. The cards are therefore in the hands of the Forézien leaders, but also of Claude Puel, who must decide if he counts on his player for the next season of ASSE.
