AS Saint-Etienne : Debut in Ligue 1 with ASSE for Abdoulaye Sidibé (ex-Montfermeil) | ASSE News

AS Saint-Étienne played its 4th day in Ligue 1 this Sunday against FC Nantes in La Beaujoire. In addition to the draw (2-2) between the two teams, we could see at work a former Ile-de-France player, Abdoulaye Sidibé, who came into play 10 minutes from the end. The 18-year-old striker played for several years in the ranks of FC Montfermeil.

The start of his Ligue 1 adventure officially started in the 80th minute of Nantes – ASSE when he replaced Yvan Neyou Noupa. Abdoulaye Sidibé should not have been to Beaujoire but Claude Puel decided to call him up for this 4th day of Ligue 1 following the injury of Charles Abi, a 20-year-old striker. Note that the 18-year-old, who has just made his professional debut, is playing with the National 3 team (2 games and 1 goal this season). He notably won the Gambardella Cup with the Greens in 2019.

The start of a career at FC Montfermeil

Coming from the 2002 generation, Abdoulaye Sidibé touched his first balls with FC Montfermeil. He played for the club located in Seine-Saint-Denis from September 2010 to June 2017. At the end of his year with the U15s, he joined AS Saint-Étienne, a partner club of FC Montfermeil. His career typically resembles that of William Saliba, passed by the Ile-de-France club and who exploded with the Greens, before joining Arsenal this summer. FC Montfermeil wish their former player a lot of development and many Ligue 1 games.
