AS Saint-Etienne : derogation filed for the reception of Lorient | ASSE News

Olympique de Marseille was the first to file an exemption to accommodate more than 5,000 people at the Orange Vélodrome for the reception of AS Saint-Etienne on the 1st day of Ligue 1. The Marseille club is not the only one to have taken such a step.

According to information from France Blue Loire, AS Saint-Etienne would also have filed a request for exemption to authorize the reception of a little less than 20,000 people during the meeting between ASSE and FC Lorient scheduled for August 30. The Prefecture of the Loire is currently studying the case. This match will be the first for the Greens at Geoffroy-Guichard in the league this season. As a reminder, Prime Minister Jean Castex recently extended the limit to 5,000 people for gatherings in France until October 30, following the Covid-19 pandemic.
