AS Saint-Etienne : Official: ASSE supporters boycott the final | ASSE News

There will be no AS Saint-Etienne supporters on Friday July 24 for the Coupe de France final against PSG.

The supporters, with the support of their club, announced their boycott of the meeting for obvious reasons. For once, it was not the repression, reception conditions or sanctions that led to this decision, but the inability to bring only a small delegation of 900 people to this meeting. The allocated quota literally prevents sharing without making thousands unhappy, and it has been deemed easier to give up all the tickets.

With 900 places for Saint-Étienne supporters and impossible sanitary conditions, we reluctantly decided that none of the five groups of AS Saint-Étienne will support the Greens in Saint-Denis. […] Our players will be responsible for proudly representing an entire people and an entire city. ASSE’s five fan groups said in a joint statement. A decision understood and accepted by the club, which decided not to bring any sponsors or partners for this meeting, just to put everyone in the same boat. However, there will be no boycott by the players and the whole club, contrary to what Roland Romeyer hinted a few weeks ago. 5,000 spectators are allowed for this meeting, and as PSG risks doing the same with this impossible decision to limit the number of supporters, it is rumored that places could be given to caregivers in high demand during the Covid-19 crisis .
